Destini is 19!!

*Sigh*....My child is 19 today! I still can't believe that it's been 19 yrs since I first felt the worst pain in my life! For those of you who don't know, I was in labor with Destini for 38 hours. I guess she was pretty comfortable in the womb and was not looking forward to the sunlight.

Giving birth to her was quite an ordeal. Not only did she NOT want to come out she got so mad at us for trying to make her that her heart rate dropped, my blood pressure dropped, and the next thing I knew I was practically upside down on the hospital bed with an oxygen mask attached to my face. Let me tell you, that was scary!!

For some reason, which I don't know if I ever knew, the doctor did not want to do a c-section but by this point Destini NEEDED to come out...so in the delivery room the doctor was over me trying to push her down....REALLY...ask Tommie she was there. Somehow he forced her out...and she came out a nice shade of blue (not good), and as I recall she decided to use the bathroom on her way out. Like I said she was not happy to join us in this lovely world and she made sure we all knew it.

There is NO registration fee for this one if you're interested in joining us! You can get more information and register at www.johnwileyprice.com/kwanzaa-5kwalk . Guess I need to go shoe shopping pretty soon! :)

I'm still in shock that Thanksgiving is next week! Where did this year go? I'm getting closer and closer to the big 4-0 and I'm not liking that one little bit! Believe me, I've been packing on a little extra moisturizer every night. :)

So, I'm considering registering for the Rock & Roll 1/2 Marathon in March. I need to make up my mind pretty quick since the registration fee increases (only by $15) on Dec 1. You see....this really cute 40 (almost 41) yr old I know just ran the Rock & Roll FULL Marathon in San Antonio last weekend and has now signed up for the 1/2 Marathon in Dallas (mentioned earlier). He believes that if I start training now that I could actually finish the 1/2. I, on the other hand, do not have quite as much faith in myself. I read on the Website that they are only closing the roads for 4 hours and that they are setting up a check point and if you don't cross it within a set time frame then you won't be allowed to continue on the course. If you're too slow they will direct you to the finish area (how embarrasing would that be?). They aren't releasing the mile marker and exact time until closer to the marathon.

So...my dilemma.....should I try to train for it or should I just continue to be lazy? It's a hard decision. :) I think Destini is at least acting like she's considering it too. I'm really not sure I could walk, jog, and I KNOW not run fast enough to do 13.1 miles in four hours. I am not an athletic person...and I'm really not too found of sweat....but it could be a good experience, right?? That is if I don't fall over dead.

Sigh...

Ok, the lady that sits behind me at work has been having the week from Hell with her 13 (soon to be 14) year old son. He was diagnosed with ADHD before school started but he isn't on medication YET (she's taking him back to the Dr next week). Anyway, he got in trouble for disrupting class earlier this week. He spent two days in ISS (in school suspension) and today - his 1st day back to class after ISS - got a citation for disrupting class again. The principle called her and told her about it. She's going to have to go to court with him and pay a fine! She's MAD!! ANYWAY....all of that has me scared to death about what I'm going to have to deal with when my boys are a little older. Not only will I be fighting Xander's ADHD I'll have to deal with all the normal pre-teen/teenage boy crap that they all go through.....WITH TWO OF THEM......AT THE SAME TIME!!!! I guess I should just come to terms with the fact that by the time my boys get to Jr. High I will be totally grey and in need of a padded room (don't say it Destini!).

Can you believe....

Wow. Can you believe that it's November all ready? Where has this year gone? Not only is the year almost over and the Holiday's are near, my oldest will be 19 this month! How did that happen? 19?? Am I really old enough to have a 19 yr old? Just one more year and she won't be a teenager anymore. Kids grow up so fast. It seems like just yesterday that Destini was projectile vomiting (she was famous for this as an infant) and crawling around trying to eat the cat food at my parents house. It's amazing how fast these past 19 years have flown by!

Halloween 2009

I hope everyone enjoyed Halloween this year. For me it was just a little weird. The kids were with their dad on Saturday and they came and picked Dest up early so she could do Sierra's makeup prior to her leaving for a friends house.

Dest decided just to do her make up over there but forgot her contacts so I had to go a little early (around 5 pm) so she'd have time. It felt just a little weird sitting around my ex husbands house with all his roommates there. I felt totally out of place.

Anyway...of course we had Alexander drama...but that only lasted about 15 minutes then he was fine. I think overall the boys had a good time.
